The Star of Bethnal Green, the area’s finest boozer, is situated in the heart of Bethnal Green offering great food, established and up and coming nights with top notch DJs to boot plus rocking Roast dinners… not to mention the best quiz night in town!

Opened by Rob Star (mulletover/Eastern Electrics) in April 2008, Rob & Jim transformed the then Pleasure Unit into the splendor of what is now today The Star. It fast became an important resource and destination for late-night revelers to escape the increasingly commercialised bars and pubs of Shoreditch & Brick Lane. It also serves as a floating workspace for the area’s creative clientele offering free wi-fi and serving superb coffee and tea throughout the day.

As the pub has grown in popularity we’ve continually evolved. Today the pub includes a 7 day a week kitchen serving up traditional stone-baked pizzas and home-cooked delicacies, a Luxury Karaoke room, rotating art exhibitions plus the soon to be launched upstairs dining room – bookable elsewhere on the site.

The Locals Card

We now have our very own VIP membership card for all our regular customers.

All you need to do is come to the pub and fill out one of our forms. As soon you fill it out, you will get sent a postcard offering £10 off your next food purchase. You will also receive one on your birthday – offering a complimetary bottle or Prosecco. Another one is sent six months after your birthday – offering a free hour in the karaoke room. Then a special offer in June offering a complimentary bottle of house wine.

Everytime you spend any money in the pub, we swipe the card and you accumulate points which then entitles you to more free vouchers. It’s a bit like a Tesco’s card, but obviously loads better and looks cooler in your wallet!
